2011 "Dreams Come True"
Program
QC United is preparing to
launch our 3rd “Dreams Come True” trip
for under-served youth. You may remember
the 1st trip that occurred in April of
2008 when the creators of QC United took
24 under-served youth to Disney World in
Orlando Florida, where they stayed on
Disney property. This year, the program
took 36 youth to Washington DC, where
the White House Tour was included in the
long list of historical sites the
participants visited. In July of 2011,
from the 11th thru the 13th, the Dreams
Come True team, as well as participating
youth and chaperones, will travel to
Chicago, Illinois.
This three-day trip (and future Dreams
Come True trips) will be in memory of
Reece Morgan; a man many of you knew
personally. Reece believed in the
potential of our youth and spent his
time, energy, and vast love, helping
area young people to succeed
educationally, and to overcome many
obstacles and challenges. Growing up in
Chicago, Reece understood and
experienced many of those obstacles and
challenges. Reece died unexpectedly in
the Fall of 2009, and we hope that these
trips in his honor will remind us all
that his mission is far from complete.
We can and should strive to make a
positive difference in the lives of our
youth.
Each group interested in participating
in this educational opportunity would be
expected to commit to sending four (4)
youth and one (1) chaperone at a cost of
$345 per person (a total of $1,725.00
per group), which includes all
transportation, room &board and three
t-shirts per individual. The actual cost
per person for this trip is minimally
$695 or $3475.00 per group. QC United
will secure the funds to cover the
remaining balance of $350 per person or
$1750 per each group of four students
and one chaperone.
If you have questions regarding this
opportunity, please direct your
questions to Mr. Moore, Ms. Riley-Quinn
or Ms. Stevenson.
We are excited to offer this “Dreams
Come True” trip to your group and hope
you find this to be a worthwhile
endeavor.
