The "Swing into Education" 2009 Golf Tournament raised $4800 in scholarships for four
Quad City Scholar students. Matching funds were provided by Augustana College, Blackhawk Community College and St. Ambrose
University. These scholarships were made possible with the generosity of Reynold's Ford, the primary sponsor of the "Swing
into Education" Golf Tournament. QC United selected students from the Quad City Scholars Program to receive the annual
scholarships this year because QCS is a successful college prep program that focuses on under-served students and is
present in seven QC area high schools in the Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities.
Scholarship Winners:
Arianna Bauer: A graduate from Moline High School,
won an $800 scholarship to Blackhawk
College
Marian Grandberry: A graduate from Rocky High School, won an $800 scholarship to
Blackhawk
College
Lauren Mentado: A graduate from Alleman High School, won a
$1600 scholarship to Augustana
College
Taylor Thomas-Sloan: A graduate from Davenport North High School, won a $1600 scholarship to St.
Ambrose University,
